The Seven Sisters Waterfall, which lies at a distance of around 32 km from Gangtok on the Gangtok-Lachung Highway, is one of the most popular tourist spots in Sikkim. This waterfall is a combination of seven different waterfalls that originate from different sources, flowing side by side and finally, merging into one.

How to reach The Seven Sisters Waterfall Gangtok

Since the Seven Sisters Waterfall lies at a distance of approximately 32 km from Gangtok, a private taxi can be hired from top car rental companies in Gangtok to reach till here. Alternatively, local bus service too can be availed to travel to this amazing place.

On the other hand, tourists can travel to Gangtok by air, rail or road.

By Air: The nearest airport to Gangtok is the Pakyong Airport, which is a seasonal airport. However, the best way to reach the city by air is to travel till the Bagdogra International Airport, which is about 123 km away in West Bengal. This airport receives regular domestic flights from major cities of the country.

On reaching the Bagdogra Airport, tourists have the option of hiring a private taxi and travel for 4 to 5 hours to reach Gangtok. Alternatively, they can opt for the helicopter service available from Bagdogra to Gangtok. The helicopter ride is 20-30 minutes. However, this service is not available all the time due to changing weather conditions in the area.

By Rail: About 118 km away from Gangtok is located the New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction, Siliguri in West Bengal. It is the nearest railhead to Gangtok. This railway station receives daily trains from across the country. On reaching the New Jalpaiguri station, tourists can hire private taxis or choose to board private/public buses to travel to Gangtok. The journey by car takes about 2 hours while by bus, it takes around 4 hours.

By Road: Bus service to the city of Gangtok is available from important cities of the eastern part of the country, including Darjeeling, Kolkata, Siliguri, Bagdogra and Kalimpong.
