How to reach Menmecho Lake, Gangtok?

Menmecho Lake is located in the eastern part of Sikkim, approximately 60 km from Gangtok. It is about 20 km beyond Changu Lake and 20 km before Tsomgo Lake. Further, Menmecho Lake is also located 20 km ahead of Lake Tsomgo. It is on your way to Jelep Pass.

To reach Menmecho Lake, you have several transportation options. You can opt for shared jeeps or SSRTC buses from Geyzing or Pelling. Private taxi services are also available from the list of top car rental companies in Gangtok.

As this mountain lake is on the outskirts, you need to visit the lake by car or bus. As vehicles are not accessible near the river, you must walk 4 km to reach the lake.

The Rangpo railway station is 86.2 km from the lake if you travel by rail. It takes 3.5 hours to reach the mountain lake via NH 717B. You must travel by jeep or car to make your journey hassle-free. The Pakyong airport is 90.8 km from the lake. It would help if you travelled by bus or taxi as the distance is long.
